Ethic Committee

The Ethic Committee of the German Society for Nursing Science acts nationwide as a nursing-specific ethic committee.

It is a nursing-specific contribution to the range of existing ethic committees in medicine, psychology, sociology, pedagogics and other disciplines. The committee offers ethical clearing for nursing and health care projects, which do not have access to existing ethic committees or which aim to investigate unusual research questions.

Members of the ethic committee of the German Society for Nursing Science are experts in the context of ethic and research in various disciplines such as nursing science, law, philosophy and theology.

The tasks of the committee are

• the ethical appraisal of nursing research projects and
• the development of standards for ethical appraisal

The ethic committee offers consulting with the aim of bringing to mind the ethical aspects in nursing research. Additionally it develops materials and brochures and coaches multiplicators.
