The ethic committee of the German Society for Nursing Science provides an ethical clearing on research projects also for non-members of the society.
The Ethic Committee of the German Society for Nursing Science was founded from the ethic section and the steering committee of the German Society for Nursing Science which acts nationwide as a nursing-specific ethic committee.
It is a nursing-specific contribution to the range of existing ethic committees in medicine, psychology, sociology, pedagogics and other disciplines. The committee offers ethical clearing for nursing and health care projects, which do not have access to existing ethic committees or which aim to investigate unusual research questions.
Members of the ethic committee of the German Society for Nursing Science are experts in the context of ethic and research from different disciplines like nursing science, law, philosophy and theology.
The tasks of the committee are
- ethical appraisal of nursing research projects
- the development of standards for ethical appraisal
In cooperation and coordination with the ethic section the ethic committee conducts public relations and consulting with the aim to bring ethical aspects in nursing research to mind.
Additionally it develops materials and brochures and teaches multiplicators.
